DIY Laptop Skin

Recently, I've been eyeing some really cute laptop covers and skins on Society6.com but I'm flat broke so I thought I would channel my inner Pinterest and create my own! This skin was simple, cheap, and it turned out beyond my expectations. Here's the tutorial {sorry if it's bad, it's my first one!}

Things You Will Need:
Scissors
Masking Tape
Laminate Adhesive
Wax Paper
Your Design Printed Out
Paint

>>The dollar store sells a decent sized roll of laminate adhesive. It's perfect for the project. I also am adding the image I found online below. I just doubled it to trace<<

Let's Get Started!

1. Remove the backing of your laminate and add it to the wax paper.

2. Now you'll want to measure how much laminate you'll need to cover your laptop. I placed my laptop on top of the laminate/wax paper and outlined my laptop with the masking tape.
{You should have a rectangle with the masking tape making the lines}

3. Make sure you tape down the laminate/wax paper so that it's nice and taut for you to paint on.

4. Add your printed off image under the wax paper and tape it down in place.

5. Begin to trace your image with paint directly onto the laminate.

6. Let dry, then cut out from the lines you created with the masking tape originally.

7. Peel off the laminate from the wax paper and apply to your laptop!

*After having this on my laptop for a couple of days, I decided to seal it with a coat of gloss mod lodge. I would highly recommend doing this!

I wish I would've taken more pictures of the process. That being said, if you have any questions, just ask them in the comment section! Thanks for checking it out:)

    1. I started off using just basic craft acrylic paint and then transitioned to using a black nail polish because the brush I had available was smaller. Both work well!

    1. It comes off really easy and leaves no residue.
